Computers were developed to make our life easier. Do you really believe this statement? Many of the systems in your organization are processing the same data over and over again. How many times does a customer’s information get input in to a separate system? Potential customers are entered into a prospect database. Credit information may be used to qualify the customer. Once the sale is made, information needs to be re-entered into the order system. To follow-up the marketing department has created a past customer database.
This is just one example but it can be applied to just about any type of organization that has computer savvy employees. Data exists all over your organization. Many hours are spent entering the same information over and over again to get information to the people that need it most.
Solution One
Re-tool your entire organization into one master application that does it all. This may be the answer for some organizations. You put together a project team together develop a flow chart and integrate the whole works. Tough to do in an organization that is set in their ways. Not to say it can’t be done if management is willing to push it through.
Make the Connections
Start linking the organization together. Database systems are made to talk to each other. You just need the interpreter to make sense of it all. It is important not only how systems will talk to each other but what they need to say. Speak to the professionals at Flagship to get real world answers to your real world needs. |
